I am so excited about Derek Webb’s new album Stockholm Syndrome. He played a new song “Heaven,” at Ichthus when he was there with the Art Music Justice Tour. I was a little surprised that he was there to begin with because Christian music festivals don’t really seem like his thing. He took the stage, making some cheer and some audibly angry when he announced that the church “doesn’t give a shit” about poor people. I say, right on. The song was amazing. I have a video of it that I can’t post because half way through the song a women asked me to stop recording. I complied, but asked “I have to stop even if I have a press pass (which I did)?” To which she replied, “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t see that.”
Anyway.
I’m not disappointed at the way Derek has been promoting the new album, but I’m bummed that I didn’t take the time to play along with the artifacts, especially because some were right over in Lexingtion.
